Laser etched optical glass
100 x 100 x 100mm

A crystal glass cube with a three-dimensional map of the world’s principal airline routes at it’s centre.
Langlands & Bell used new laser technology employing voxels (volume elements) instead of pixels (picture elements) to create an ethereal sphere suspended inside a block of optical glass: a map of a world in transition described solely by the mass of air routes linking the world’s major cities.
