A Super 8 film ‘Three Minute Scream’ 1977 by Gina Birch, shot by Nikki Bell, and made while both were students of Fine Art at Hornsey College of Art in 1977, features in Women in Revolt!: Art & Activism in the UK 1970-1990 curated by Linsey Young at Tate Britain from 8 November 2023 – 7 April 2024.
Soon after making ‘Three Minute Scream’ with Gina Birch in 1977, Nikki Bell made ‘The Kitchen’ 1978 with Ben Langlands, the multi-media ‘environment’ which began their on-going collaboration.
