As life becomes more complicated and systems multiply we have an increasing need for abbreviations to identify elements and events. In time these codes become a new language.
Using the three letter code identifiers for international airports Language of Places maps the persistent transience of contemporary urban life – a poetry of places where landing points offer departures into the imaginary, where destinations multiply, divide, and supplant each other endlessly.
